Position: Chemical Packager

Start Date: Immediate

Term: Full-time, permanent

Salary: To be determined based on qualifications and experience

Description:  Reporting directly to the Edmonton Packaging Supervisor. As a valuable member of our production team, your role will be to ensure our production quotas are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with set up and changeover of packaging
• Following a schedule and ensuring products are packaged within allotted time
• Retrieving raw materials
• Assembling, packing, and labeling pails, carboys, drums, totes and loading onto a pallet; transferring full pallet to warehouse storage
• Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care
• Report any machinery issues to management
• Driving forklift
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in a chemical environment is an asset
• Understand safe chemical handling and storage
• TDG and WHIMIS training is a strength
• Forklift experience preferred
• Abiding by company policies and procedures
• Ability to problem solve and work independently or with a team
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Own reliable form of transportation

Working Conditions:

• Hearing protection and steel toe shoes required
• Frequently standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, and twisting while transferring product
• Operating mobile equipment (forklift, floor scrubber etc…)
